PHOENIX — Mesa police arrested a 22-year-old after he allegedly pointed a gun at a victim during a road rage incident over the weekend, authorities announced Monday.

The incident took place in the area of Stapley Road and U.S. 60 around 8 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Mesa Police Department.

Brian Lopez was arrested and booked into jail on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of possessing a firearm as a prohibited possessor, police said.

Officers who responded to the scene spoke with the victim, who said the incident started when a white BMW cut him off while he was exiting U.S. 60 at Stapley Road.
