CHEYENNE – No formal charges have been filed against the man who allegedly shot and killed another man Saturday night in front of King Soopers supermarket on Dell Range Boulevard.

Cheyenne Police responded to a report of shots fired in the grocery store parking lot at approximately 9:06 p.m. to find a 19-year-old man with apparent gunshot wounds.

First aid was administered until medical personnel arrived, but the teen was later declared dead at the scene, according to a CPD news release.

Officers contacted another adult male who they say claimed to be the shooter, and he was temporarily detained on scene. He was later released, according to Alex Farkas, public information officer for the Cheyenne Police Department.
