Less than a week after ABC pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air indefinitely, it seems the show is set to make a comeback.

On Monday, Disney released a statement confirming that Kimmel's show will return to air on Tuesday night. The company said the decision came after several days of "thoughtful conversation" with Kimmel, who will address the comments that led to the show's suspension during the taping on Tuesday, according to CNBC.

The decision to suspend Kimmel came in the wake of comments he made during last Tuesday's show, in which he criticized the MAGA response to the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on September 10.

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said on last Tuesday's show.

Following Kimmel's comments, Nexstar Media Group — which owns nearly 200 television stations across the country — announced its stations affiliated with ABC would preempt Kimmel's show. Sinclair, another major broadcasting corporation, threatened to do the same.

Neither company has commented on ABC's decision to reinstate the show

ABC's decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel Live! also came hours after comments from FCC Chair Brendan Carr seemed to threaten to revoke the network's broadcasting license.

According to the CNBC report, the decision to bring back Jimmy Kimmel Live! comes from the top, with Disney CEO Bob Iger and co-chair Dana Walden reportedly informing Kimmel of their decision on Monday. Former Disney CEO Michael Eisner also criticized what he called the "intimidation" of ABC by the FCC.
