SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI)-- All northbound lanes on the I-5 freeway starting at Mission Bay Drive on I-8 will be closed from Friday, Sept. 26, through Monday, Sept. 29, according to a report from Caltrans.
The closure taking place to conduct roadwork and culvert replacement will begin Friday evening at 9 p.m. and will end Monday morning at 5 a.m., Caltrans says.
Motorists are advised to take SR-163, SR-15 and I-805 as alternate routes to connect onto I-5. Those traveling northbound on I-5 past SR-163 will be detoured to I-8.
According to Caltrans, portable signs will be placed along the routes advising of the closures and suggesting alternate routes.
