SAMMAMISH, Wash. – NASA has revealed its newest class of astronaut candidates, and among them is Lauren Edgar, a geologist from Sammamish, Washington.

Edgar was selected from a pool of more than 8,000 applicants across the United States. She was working at the US Geological Survey when she was chosen for this prestigious opportunity.

NASA announced that the class, which includes 10 candidates, will undergo nearly two years of rigorous training. Upon completion, they will be eligible for flight assignments supporting future missions to low-Earth orbit, the moon and Mars.

This selection marks a significant step for Edgar as she joins an elite group poised to contribute to NASA's ambitious space exploration goals.
