TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- A man who ran into a burning home to save a woman is being hailed as a hero after a fire tore through seven row houses late Friday night , killing an 18-year-old and displacing more than 20 residents.

The fire broke out around 11 p.m. on the 1200 block of North Olden Avenue, leaving all seven homes uninhabitable. As of Monday, the block remained closed while investigators worked to determine the cause.

"At this time, it is undetermined. We don't have any indication of it being a criminal act," said Capt. Lisette Rios, public information officer for the Trenton Police Department.

Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora said the community is mourning the loss of Joseph Kokulo, an 18-year-old JROTC student at Trenton Central High School.
