The Sept. 22 USDA NASS Crop Progress Report shows Ohio harvest is underway. Soybeans are 10% harvested, compared with 4% for the five-year average, with 71% of beans dropping leaves. Soybean condition is rated 40% good to excellent and 41% fair.

Corn harvest is 6% complete, slightly ahead of the 3% five-year average. Overall, 93% of the crop is dented and 51% is mature. Corn condition is rated 44% good to excellent and 40% fair.
