MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) – Several neighbors in Montgomery County are heartbroken after a car hit and killed a 16-year-old boy near the intersection of University Boulevard and St. Paul Street in Kensington Sunday night.

Shaina Anguera lives in the area. She says she was devastated when she heard the news.

“My heart goes out to the family,” Anguera said. “It’s just so sad.”

Anguera calls the stretch of University Boulevard where the 16-year-old was killed Sunday night dangerous.

“I was always worried that this would happen,” she said. “I see a lot of teenagers walking around here because we’re close to the high school. It’s a family-oriented area.”

She says the busy roadway has been problematic for a while.
