JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Edited News Release/KY3) - The Missouri Powerball player who split a record jackpot will remain unknown, for now.

The player, who split the $1.787 billion jackpot on September 6, said he plans to take time off and enjoy the experience. The win also gives him the distinction of claiming the largest prize ever won by a Missouri Lottery player.

“I’m going to just do me for a year,” the winner said, adding that he’s looking forward to spending time with his wife, who now also plans to reduce her workload as a result of the win. “I’m like a homebody. The perfect day is sitting at home doing what I do – relaxing,” he said.

While claiming his prize at Missouri Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City, he noted such a large win was still hard to fathom.
