OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - An audit by the state found a part-time employee of the Nebraska Abstracters Board had bilked the agency for thousands of dollars for clocking in while working at an Omaha company and attending school at UNO at the same time.

State Auditor Mike Foley stated that the part-time executive director apparently inflated his own work hours, resulting in $20,700 in unearned compensation.

“This guy reminds me of the legendary ‘Big Foot,’ as there are rumors of his existence but few verifiable on-the-job sightings,” Foley said.

Much of the purported unearned income happened while the executive director was working at his other job, Albireo Energy, in Omaha.
