BRANDON, S.D. (KELO) -- After months of practice, the competition season for high school marching band is underway, and this weekend more than a dozen bands will make their way to Brandon.
Fresh off their weekend win at the Pursuit of Excellence in Marshall, Minnesota, the Brandon Valley Marching Lynx will play the role of host this Saturday at the Big Sioux Review.
"Big Sioux Review is a huge event for Brandon. We're bringing in 13 bands from the region," Volunteer Coordinator Brian Downs said. "Up to 2,000 people in attendance, combined with over 1,200 students, plus another 130 volunteers, so we could have up to 4,000 people at the event this weekend," Downs added.
