SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The breeding season for North American whitetail deer nears
Now, the Missouri Department of Conservation is reminding you to be extra careful as you hit the road. The agency estimates that Missouri has approximately 1.5 million white-tailed deer. This type of deer is known for causing the most crashes.
In 2023, during October and November, Missouri reported nearly 3,600 crashes involving deer, resulting in 420 injuries and four deaths. Conservation agents say there are particular times you should avoid.
