GREAT FALLS The investigation into an alleged assault in Great Falls led to two schools briefly implementing "shelter in place" procedures on Monday, September 22, 2025.

The Great Falls Police Department said that at about 8:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to investigate a family disturbance in the 2300 block of 23rd Street South.

The 911 caller told dispatchers a 23 year-old man was physically assaulting a woman. When officers arrived, they found the suspect had left the residence.

A warrant was issued to arrest the suspect for suspected assault with a weapon and partner/family member assault.

Officers found the suspect at a residence in the 2500 block of Sixth Street NE.
