FORT DODGE, Iowa —

A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing another man outside a convenience store Sunday in Fort Dodge.

According to a news release from Fort Dodge police, officers who responded to a report of an altercation in the 1600 block of 5th Avenue S found a 50-year-old man with a stab wound and laceration on his right hand.

Witnesses told police that the men had an altercation around 9 a.m. outside the Star Convenience Store, 1601 5th Ave. S, and the suspect fled after the stabbing.

A Webster County Sheriff's deputy located the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Johnathan D. Clark, and took him into custody.

Clark, of Fort Dodge, has been charged with going armed with intent and willful injury resulting in serious injury.
