A man will face court today after he allegedly set fire to a home south-west of Sydney while his mother was still inside.

At about 12.50pm yesterday, police were called to a house on fire in Casuarina Place, Narellan Vale.

The house was well alight before firefighters could extinguish the blaze.

Two occupants were assessed by paramedics, with no injuries reported.

At about 1pm yesterday, a 30-year-old man was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including four domestic violence counts of damaging property by fire.

9News understands one of the occupants of the house was the 30-year-old's mother.

The man was refused bail and will appear in court today.
