PERRY, Ga. — A man who police say shot his father Sunday night had another run-in with the law just a few days earlier, according to Georgia's Department of Natural Resources.
Alec Bloodworth and another man were charged with hunting violations in Macon County just a few days before Bloodworth was accused of shooting his father.
Game Warden Wes Freeman says that they believe it happened Sept. 18 late at night, sometime between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Freeman says Bloodworth was hunting whitetail deer at night, from a public roadway and in a Ford F-250. He says those are all crimes under Georgia law.
He says that hunting is fine, but you just have to follow the law.
"Hunt whitetail deer the way they're supposed to be hunted," Freeman said. "Otherwise, you'll be caught."
