COLUMBUS, Ohio — Construction is expected to begin within the next week on 14 new single-family affordable homes in the Linden neighborhood, marking what leaders say is a significant step toward addressing the city's housing shortage.
The project on Kohr Place is being led by the Central Ohio Community Land Trust with funding assistance from the City of Columbus through its affordable housing bonds.
"The ultimate goal is to put folks in affordable homes," said Curtiss Williams, president and CEO of COCIC: The Franklin County Land Bank. "There is a lack of supply here and there is opportunity for folks at a middle-income level to be able to buy these homes, there's just not enough on the marketplace."
