SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Kids can be exposed to a wide range of content on social media, from videos to memes. The images can be both positive and negative.

“Students are exposed to so many things. On social media and out in the world, at home or at school. The biggest thing to look for is changes,” says Shayne Thompson, a counselor with the Harrison School District.

Signs kids are negatively affected by social media include emotional changes like withdrawal, excessive worry, and irritability; behavioral changes such as isolation from friends and family.
