SANDPOINT, Idaho – A high school football game between Sandpoint High School and Lake City High School at War Memorial Field on Saturday ended with police asking parents to leave due to reported disruptions.

According to Sandpoint High School officials, parents from Lake City moved to the home team stands, causing disturbances during the game. However, Lake City parents, including Dan George, claimed they were merely cheering for their team.

"It then became very apparent that that parent was there to be confrontational and ask us to shush down our cheering," said George.

Police approached the Lake City parents and requested they leave for "disruptive conduct." The Lake Ponderay School District explained that involving law enforcement was required by school board protocol.
