ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - An investigation is ongoing after a 2-year-old drowned at the Oakhurst pool on East Lake Drive Friday afternoon.
Poppy Pepper’s family attorney said she was at the pool for a kick-off event for her older brother’s swim team when it happened.
Attorney Natanya Brooks said Pepper was full of joy and never met a stranger.
“She loved her brother and sister and grandparents fiercely, and they called her ‘Poppy Girl,’ and she represented just unconditional love,” said Brooks.
Brooks said the Pepper family wants answers.
“When there is a pool and kids on deck, there needs to be eyes on the pool at all times,” Brooks said.
