SEATTLE — Former U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg endorsed Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell for reelection Monday, just over a month before the Nov. 4 general election, where Harrell faces challenger Katie Wilson.

The endorsement comes as the Democratic Party furthers a broader push to unify behind candidates in key races across the country. It stands in contrast to the Democratic divide in New York City’s mayoral race, where party leaders have been hesitant to endorse Zohran Mamdani, despite his strong primary performance.
