SHREVEPORT, La. -- Intelligence gathered during a weekend Block by Block effort in the Mooretown neighborhood led to much more than a cleanup. Shreveport police acted on those tips, which led to almost two dozen guns being seized and about that many arrests. Here's how the special operation breaks down:
3 felony arrests
19 misdemeanor arrests
4 juveniles taken into custody on firearm-related offenses
23 firearms seized
2 stolen vehicles recovered
"We want to thank the Shreveport City Marshal’s Office and the dedicated members of our Violent Crimes Abatement Team for their partnership in this effort," Shreveport police said. "This boots-on-the-ground approach is making a real impact in keeping our neighborhoods safe."
