One game into their preseason schedule and the Winnipeg Jets have already made some cuts.

Goalie Alex Worthington, a 20-year-old from Saskatchewan who played junior hockey last year, has been released. He was on an amateur tryout.

On a professional tryout was defenceman Ethan Frisch, a 24-year-old Minnesota product who played the last two years with San Jose in the AHL.

The Jets also sent four players back to their junior teams, including Manitoba native Owen Martin of Oakbank, Winnipeg’s third-round draft pick this year. He’ll rejoin Spokane of the Western League.

Kevin He, another forward and Winnipeg’s fourth-round draft pick last year, goes back to Niagara of the Ontario League.

Jacob Cloutier, a seventh-rounder this year, returns to Saginaw of the OHL.
