CAYCE, S.C. — Flooding in Cayce has been an ongoing problem, especially near Knox Abbott Drive. Residents who live across from a nearby creek say it doesn’t take much rain for water to rise quickly, sometimes from just a few inches to several feet in a matter of hours. Some say they’ve seen it firsthand and it’s left them worried about their homes and property.

Neighbors have been speaking out about the issue on a local Facebook group, sharing photos and videos of the creek overflowing after recent storms. Many believe that drainage from 12th Street to 9th Street is funneled straight into the creek, which only worsens the flooding.
