By late Friday night, new Tulsa coach Tre Lamb could easily quantify the impact of beating Oklahoma State — 540 text messages from friends, alumni and Hurricane legends like Zaven Collins and Lovie Smith.

“It took me a long time,” Lamb said of responding to all the well wishes.

Despite the breakthrough 19-12 victory over the Cowboys, this week Lamb will demand his team have short memories.
