CENTRAL WASHINGTON – As the first full day of fall arrives, residents can look forward to cooler temperatures and stunning leaf color changes.

According to Brandon Lawhorn, lead meteorologist at Pendleton’s National Weather Forecast Office, several factors influence these changes, including sunlight, precipitation levels, plant species and positioning.

Lawhorn highlighted that despite these variables, the color changes are still anticipated.
