Commanders starting safety Will Harris left Sunday's Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders after suffering a broken fibula.

On Monday, Washington placed him on the injured reserve, ruling him out for at least the next four weeks. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn says he has hope that Harris will be able to return to the field sometime this season.

Percy Butler, a backup safety and key special teams player, also left Sunday's 41-24 win with a hip injury, prompting Washington to waste no time finding a replacement to bolster its ailing defensive secondary, signing veteran safety Darnell Savage on Monday.
