SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Congregation Emanuel in San Francisco has unveiled a $100 million renovation, marking the first major upgrade in its 175-year history.

The renovation coincides with the Jewish High Holy Days, starting with Rosh Hashanah services.

The two-year project preserved the temple's original sanctuary while adding modern spaces designed to bring the Jewish community together.

The renovation includes a new courtyard fountain that symbolizes the bridge between the old and the new.

"The old becomes new, and the new becomes hol,y and it’s actually written on the fountain," said Cantor Arik Luck of Congregation Emanuel.
