TOKYO- Central Michigan alum and former MAC Conference Champion for discus, Alex Rose, made history at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Rose took home a bronze medal in the discus at the games with a throw of 66.96 meters, claiming the first medal ever for Samoa.

Rose previously became the first male Pacific Islander in more than 60 years to reach an Olympic final in track and field in the Paris Games.
