KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — The Kershaw County Planning and Zoning Commission recently approved a request to rezone land for a new data center.

Terra Nexus Ventures, a commercial real estate developer, brought a rezoning request to the Kershaw Planning Board earlier this month.

Johnathon Proctor, a member of the Zoning and Planning Commission, says with their favorable vote, the request will now go to county council.

“All we are saying is that we don't have any problem as a planning and zoning commission in rezoning this particular piece of land,” Proctor said.

If approved, the data center would be built at 771 Park Road. The property spans a little over 160 acres and sits across the street from the Kershaw County Landfill.
