TORCH LAKE, MI - A tornado has been confirmed, spinning up from a severe thunderstorm this evening.

A thunderstorm moved across Grand Traverse Bay and produced a tornado around 5:50 this evening in Antrim County, according to the National Weather Service.

The initial rotation looks like it developed around Kewadin, near the north end of Elk Lake. The tornado then crossed Torch Lake, where is took on the look of a water spout.

Since the atmospheric conditions where initially structured to produce the tornado, the National Weather Service in Gaylord is saying the tornado became a “tornadic waterspout.”

The National Weather Service in Gaylord is already confirming the tornado based on videos.

The tornadic thunderstorm then moved northeast between Bellaire and Central Lake.
