President Donald Trump on Monday said the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, along with the FDA and NIH, are updating labeling on acetaminophen use during pregnancy over concerns of possible risks of neurological issues in children, including autism.
The announcement was met with concern from physicians who don’t want expectant mothers to avoid treating pain during pregnancy.
Trump announced at a Monday afternoon news conference, alongside Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz.
