UPPER DARBY – If there’s one thing Chris Britton can’t stand, it’s attention on himself.

So after Springfield rolled past Upper Darby, 48-19, on Monday afternoon for his 100th career win as head coach, Britton did what he always does: tried to brush it off.

The Cougars had other plans. His players and coaches broke out custom T-shirts with one of his signature sayings, “one game at a time,” surprised him with a beautiful commemorative picture frame, and even gifted him a fresh pair of blue-and-gold Springfield themed kicks.

And Britton took it all in with his usual stoic grin.

The cherry on top came when everyone — including his wife Michelle — made him hop into the team picture. Britton agreed, but only if it was quick.
