A 19-year-old man was arrested after rolling a 2003 Chevy pickup shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday.
Deputies and firefighters responded to a one-vehicle rollover on Roany Road. The driver, the 19-year-old, and the passenger, a 21-year-old man, had gotten out of the truck by the time deputies arrived. Witnesses saw the two run away from the crash and stand near a tree, said Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds.
The crash investigation revealed that the 19-year-old had been texting leading up to the rollover. Deputies found suspected THC wax, a marijuana grinder and marijuana in the truck.
They also found a Glock in the tree the two had been standing next to. The passenger was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries, Reynolds said.
