KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - A ribbon cutting is set to take place this weekend for the new state-of-the-art cancer facility in Kearney.

Before the public gets a chance to see inside, the Kearney Cancer Center gave a sneak peek to the media of the new 25,000-square-foot facility.

The Kearney Cancer Center is located between Kearney Regional Medical Center and Yanney Park. The facility is made possible through a partnership with the hospital and Cancer Partners of Nebraska.

Kearney Cancer Center said more than 11,000 new cancer cases are diagnosed each year in Nebraska. Many patients in greater Nebraska seek cancer treatment and surgery in different locations, without centrally coordinated plans for ongoing care.
