Phil and Carol Baily are closing a chapter on their business this month and beginning a new one.
The couple closed their restaurant, Carol’s, at Baily Vineyard & Winery on Sunday, Sept. 21 and are in the process of moving their tasting room to the location of their first vineyard.
They have been a presence in Temecula Valley’s wine country for more than 40 years, planting their first acre of grapes in 1982 after moving with their two sons from Los Angeles County to southwest Riverside County.
Four years later, they opened their first winery at 36150 Pauba Road, but afterward focused on another property about four miles away at 33440 La Serena Way. That’s where they opened Carol’s Restaurant in 1998 and a tasting room the following year.
