Forget elections and AFL rivalries, Victoria's latest debate has arrived as the government launches a competition to decide the state's best savoury snack.

The Victorian public can vote on the state's best pie, banh mi and potato cake, with the top entry in each category to be crowned Victoria's Pick.

Premier Jacinta Allan announced that Victorians could vote on Vic's Picks until October 19 via the website .

"Vic's Picks is about celebrating the people, businesses and traditions that make our state proud - and giving every Victorian the chance to have their say," Ms Allan said.
