Trinity Christian pushed its winning streak to 11 matches Thursday night, holding off Sandy Creek for a 2-1 road victory.

The Lions dropped a set but responded to secure the match, adding to their momentum after also winning the teams’ last meeting.

Catherine Whiting led the way with nine kills, while Genna Rinkenberger tallied 14 assists. Zoe Joyner added two aces from the service line to help fuel the offense.

With the win, Trinity Christian improved to 19-7 overall and 3-0 in region play. Sandy Creek fell to 6-16 and 2-1 in the region, suffering its first region loss of the season.

Both teams return to action Tuesday. Trinity Christian visits Whitewater at 6 p.m., while Sandy Creek hosts Spalding, a team currently on a five-match skid.
