Shannon Kearns’ fourth-quarter goal held up as the game-winner as Wyoming Area prevailed over Wyoming Valley West 1-0 on Monday in a matchup of two reigning District 2 field hockey champions.

Lucia Campenni provided the assist for the goal, scored by Kearns with just over five minutes remaining in the final quarter.

Kaylah Sewell made 10 saves for Valley West in the loss.

Caitlyn Mizzer and Chloe Fiske scored a goal each to lead the Mountaineers past Pittston Area.
