A 29-year-old Kalgoorlie man is set to face court today after detectives from WA Police's Homicide Squad charged him with murder, two days after the death of a man in the state's Goldfields.

He is accused of deliberately hitting a 42-year-old man, whose identity is not yet known, with a vehicle in the Kalgoorlie suburb of West Lamington.

Police allege the man was struck about 1:35am on Sunday, but emergency services say they were not alerted until 5:50am, more than four hours later.

The 42-year-old man was found unconscious with critical injuries on Hawkins Street near the Kalgoorlie Arboretum, a popular dog exercise park, and died at the scene.
