A 33-year-old man Monday was sentenced to 30 years in prison after he pleaded guilty but mentally ill to voluntary manslaughter for a 2022 stabbing death.

Kevin G. Harris, also known as Dregon Holt, of Fort Wayne was charged with murder in the April 11, 2022, death of 48-year-old Terry E. Coleman. The victim died of a stab wound to the neck, the coroner ruled.

Harris faced a jury trial for the murder charge in July 2024, but a mistrial was ruled because of his behavior during jury selection, according to online court records.

Last week, Harris pleaded guilty but mentally ill to voluntary manslaughter by entering a plea agreement. The murder charge was dismissed when Allen Superior Court David Zent accepted the plea agreement Monday.
