ST. GEORGE, La. (WAFB) - Cities in East Baton Rouge Parish are putting plans in place to tackle pothole problems.

It’s not always a smooth drive in one St. George neighborhood.

“Drainage, the curbing, the potholes. Very annoying. Extremely,” explained Elizabeth Phillips.

Phillips said she and her neighbors have been dealing with various potholes for years, but that nuisance could soon get fixed.

The City of St. George just launched the ‘Pothole Patrol’. The effort, through a private contractor, is starting with more than 50 potholes across more than 25 streets.

“We just want people to see that we hear you and that we’re positively moving in a direction to fix some of these minor repairs on our roadways,” said St. George Mayor Dustin Yates.
