GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - After a year of conflict, the new year is a time to start again. The Jewish New Year started on Monday night, and hundreds of people filled the O’Connell Center to celebrate.
“A time where you can be yourself and just learn new things about yourself and make a fresh beginning,” shared University of Florida student Danielle Bulbin.
Bulbin is a freshman and says this event helps her not to feel homesick during the holidays. She and other girls from her Jewish sorority decided to attend the Rosh Hashanah celebration.
This is Bulbin’s first time celebrating the High Holy Days away from her family.
“So it’s definitely very special to be part of a community where I’m able to find that sense of family once again,” said Bulbin.
More than 500 others joined Bulbin to
