QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Wild moments on a Queens bus led to a now-viral video showing teens menacing another boy with a machete and a can of pepper spray.

The after-school fight spiraled out of control on Atlantic Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard, with the bus driver caught in the middle.

“Basically, someone was being chased onto his bus and they were being chased with someone with a machete,” said Alex Kemp, VP of TWU Local 100.

Video shows the 54-year-old driver stepping off the Q24 bus on September 12 to try to de-escalate the situation around 2:30 p.m.

“He projected a presence I believe saved people from getting hurt,” Kemp said.

Kemp, the driver’s union vice president, said his colleague ultimately suffered the consequences and was maced along with a teen in the video.
