The SAC has new kings of the hardcourt.
Bishop Luers swept South Side 5-0 on the Archers' home tennis courts Monday to wrap up a 7-0 slate against conference opponents. The Knights (15-3), who are SAC champions for the first time since 2016, beat each of their league foes by a 5-0 margin.
"At the beginning of the season, we knew this was the biggest goal, and today we knew we had to go out there and get the W," said Bishop Luers junior Jack Klinger, the Knights' No. 1 singles player. "We were just all really confident, and it was really exciting."
There were three juniors in the Knights lineup on Monday as well as two seniors, and coach Jimmy Brown said that those veterans have been toiling in search of a title for some time.
