One person was killed in a shooting on Beechcrest Drive in Jackson.

According to Interim Jackson Police Chief Tyree Jones, the shooting happened this evening. The victim was shot at least once and died.

A male suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

The identities of the suspect or victim have not yet been released.
