On Friday, the University of Michigan Presidential Search Advisory Committee held a virtual student-listening session to gather feedback on the presidential search process. Hosted by Regent Denise Ilitch (D), Public Policy Dean Celeste Watkins-Hayes, Central Student Government President Eric Veal Jr. and other University faculty members, the event was part of a series of listening sessions meant to gain input from various groups affiliated with the University in the search for the new U-M president.
The search for a new president follows former President Santa Ono’s resignation last spring to pursue the presidency at the University of Florida , which the Florida Board of Governors ultimately rejected. After his resignation, the University’s Board of Regents named Domenico Gras
