Speaking at the White House on Monday alongside Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Medicare and Medicaid chief Dr. Mehmet Oz, Trump said the FDA plans to update warning labels to discourage the use of the drug during pregnancy.

The president pointed to studies that show a possible connection between Tylenol use in pregnancy and autism, but he did not provide any proof that one causes the other.

Dr. Martin Makary, head of the FDA, responded by saying that while some studies have found a link between Tylenol and autism, it’s not clear that Tylenol actually causes autism. Other studies have found no link at all.
