Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembélé has won the 2025 Ballon d’Or, edging Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal to claim the biggest individual prize in football.

In the women’s category, Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmatí once again took home the award after another outstanding season.

Malawi celebrated history as Temwa Chawinga ranked 17th in the Women’s Ballon d’Or, the highest-ever finish for a Malawian footballer. The striker, who plays for Kansas City Current in the US NWSL, earned her place among the world’s best following an electrifying year of performances.

Chawinga featured alongside global stars including Zambia’s Barbra Banda and Spain’s Alexia Putellas, further highlighting her rise on the international stage.
