GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - On Monday, Greenville’s Youth Council kicked off it’s second meeting, where they discussed a variety of social issues and their plans on addressing them.

The board, composed of students from different high schools across the city, got together to come up with ideas on tackling issues ranging from youth mental health to homelessness.

“I joined a few years ago because I wanted to make a difference,” Christian Blake, a junior at J.H. Rose High School, said. “I see that there’s a lot of inequality around wealth and socially around Greenville and I wanted to try to make a difference for that and for the betterment of the entire community, the people who live here.”
